Platform 1225 Forum 2019:

Friday 5th April, 2019 from 8:30am - 3.30pm
Royal on the Park, Albert St, Brisbane.

Platform 1225 Forum

“”

Homelessness happens for young people aged 12-25.

If we believe in a socially inclusive and fair society, we need to find ways of ensuring that all are included. Platform 1225 is an initiative of Queensland Youth Housing Coalition.

Join us in unpacking this complex issue with the aim
to ensure social inclusion for all young people.

Featuring high calibre keynote speakers, panellists and the direct voices of young people, Platform 1225 aims to begin the complex conversation about social inclusion for all young people regardless of the complexities they face.

Social Inclusion – How do we fare?

  • Are We Fair?
  • What’s fair in our society? Whilst many fight for fair, we rarely articulate what it actually means to live in a fair society.
  • Is it fair that thousands of young people are homeless every day?
  • Is it fair that thousands of young people who are homeless have limited access to education?
  • Is it fair that thousands of young people have limited access to income support?
  • Is it fair that thousands of young people have fractured relationships with their families and significant others?
  • Is it fair that those who have fractured relationships with families and others have limited means of healing these relationships?
  • Is it fair that those young people in need of support have little access to the support they need?
  • Is it fair that young people in the formative years of their lives don’t have access to the basic necessities to ensure that they can become fully functioning and included members of our society?

Will You Partner With Queensland Youth Housing Coalition & Become Part of the Solution?

Featuring Keynote Speaker and human rights advocate Aimee McVeigh.
Event includes key research, the experiences of young people and panel discussion.
